Tv Series Review: Ghost wars

Look Around Netflix i stumbled on this TV series that look pretty interest, after watching a few episodes ive come to find this series very fascinating, ive always been draw to the supernatural type series, this was no exception despite the fact Syfy cancelled season 2 so not sure if there will be one.

This isnt a bad supernatural series though i can see why some people might not like it, as in some places it a bit weird to follow as it jump around alot with different event in the town folk lives. While the story of the Series is pretty interest as it set in a isolated town miles from civilization and cut off due to a earthquake as the bridge is out.

Its the weird supernatural side of this series that i find interesting as things seem to spiral out of control something happen to certain people, other just think there nuts which ya come one must people would as they dont believe in the supernatural, it kind of made worst as local man they think is weird can see them, which seem to be there only hope in find out what going on.

I wouldnt say that this series is frighten, it does have some spooky elements, like the fact these supernatural thing are playing with people minds which is even more frightening being isolated in a town miles from anywhere remote, the fact the town wont let you leave is even more disturbing which give this series that interesting concept.

While the plot seem simple and straightforward, especial with a lab doing experiments with Particles, you cant help but wonder if this has something to do with the hauntings, but the series bouncing you from one person experience to other its hard to say for sure.

 With the plot When an earthquake unleashes dangerous paranormal forces, the beliefs and biases of humankind face a reckoning. Roman Mercer, a troubled medium and local pariah, must fight figurative and literal demons to stop a mass haunting in his remote Alaskan town of Port Moore. The prejudiced townsfolk stand in his way, unable or unwilling to see the threat -- at least, until the unexplainable and horrific incidents become too dire to overlook. Mercer's psychic abilities may prove to be the people's only salvation.

Its actually not that bad to watch on netflix and worth checking out even if it for one season.

DC Swamp Thing pilot episode Review

Damn this is the first Series to get me Hooked within the First 5 mins of it starting watching it, DC finally done something dark, I do mean dark twist, evil and I kid you not gory

From what ive just seen it looks like some supernatural force has been in the swamp for years that able to control the Vines and environment that grown bigger in power from some type of Chemical being dumb in the swamp, Holy hell this doesn't hold back on the gory and brutality using the horror side of the supernatural swamp, you can't tell right away this isnt gonna be some light heart.

There a lot of element taking from Man thing with the supernatural side of things from what I  saw from the pilot episode, I love the transformation of the swamp thing giving the audience the first look of swamp thing, Ive gotta say this is Miles better than Teen Titans in special effects and the way the drama flows from their character.

It fleshes out characters and introduces you to who they are and some of them have a past growing up with the swamp, Were clear also introduced to the villian played by Will Patton who playing  Avery Sunderland all those that have read teh comic books will know who he is.

Introduced to the beautiful Crystal Reed (star of the tv series teen wolf) who clearly playing the love interest of swamp thing Abby Arcane who is a CDC Dr. Doctor trying to found out why people are coming down sick, but clear as thing unfold something else is going on. Andy Bean who the main star of the show playing Alec Holland who will eventually become Swamp Thing which is done in a brilliant way, showing just how swamp thing become the creature.

From I saw there is a lot of history between character so expect drama and well as some frightening dark and twisted moments that's just in the first Episode, I cannot wait for episode 2 this has me hooked. With a strong start like this, I can honestly say this is Mile better than Titans and should be on tv and not streaming service because this has the making of one of the best DC tv series going just by judging that first episode, easily a 10 out of 10 pilot episode. 

Tv Series Review: The Exorcist

Story-line: Angela, is plagued by increasingly frightening nightmares, her husband is slowly losing his mind, her older daughter spends her time locked in her room and her younger daughter hears strange noises from inside the walls. Two priests are brought together, as all their fates become entangled in a battle against an ancient force of evil

Season 1 episode 1- 6 so far.

When it comes to horror film's being made into full length tv series your thinking OK well how can this be done when a horror film burns fast in the story & it all over before it begun?  , well with the right direction giving the story a bit of a slow creepy , dark & intriguing concept it can be done.

New to Fox based on the popular horror film the exorcist where a priest battles to save a young girls life from the dark force of hell , come a story of a happy city family living a happy life until their young daughter came home from collage after a car crash that killed her friend. 

As we see the series process from episode to episode we start noticing the odd thing start to happen around the youngest daughter , this is where this series goes from an ordinary drama type series to a very dark & twisted one.

Hannah Kasulka who play the youngest daughter Casey Rance is absolutely perfect casting for this role playing the loving daughter of  Angela Rance (Geena Davis) who noticed the change in her as well as strange things around the house. 

There is something about her eye the way she give that evil stares when something is controlling her she 100% come off on screen extremely creepy & thought provoking , it really give you the chill's. 

This is where we see the new priest Father Tomas Ortega played brilliantly by Alfonso Herrera who doesn't seem to believe in his own faith until he is confronted by evil , Its at this point Tomas is force with a dilemma to track down an former priest Father Marcus Keane played by Ben Daniels  who lost a child during a exorcism.

What seem like a normal exorcism to get a demon out of Casey Rance become a much more bigger problem when other demons seem to be in play as well , so far from what ive watched this series is actually turning out to be a very intriguing twisted series that horror fan should like.

If you haven't already started watching this series i highly recommend watching it very creep, dark & twisted horror series that im surprised works as a series.

Overall : Dark , twisted , brilliant casting & perfect performances to make a brilliant start to a season.

Aftermath tv series pilot review

Channel : Sci-fi - Space 

Storyline 

The Copeland family battle for survival when civilization comes to an apocalyptic end, triggered by massive storms, meteor strikes, earthquakes, a plague - and the rise of supernatural creatures.

Basing my review on the pilot what ive seen so far i can tell this series has alot to ground to make up on , not that it's not a good start to a new series but it does lack the the start off point. What i mean by this is we just thrown into the start of what happen in the world instead of a build up which most series do.

I think this was a bold move to take doing this way but i see why they didn't because they are trying something different but this series does need to improve itself as at the moment the first pilot episode doesn't really draw you in as much at first, we introduced with the family who find himself in the misted of chaos as strange thing start to happen , weird ghostly mists appear possessing people , sky is falling with meteorite, disease is turn people crazy.

Yes this is the series about the end of the world , the rapture has disease & demon plague the world of the living survivor are trying to survive the onslaught as people become infected or possessed by evil.

This series does start off a little weak but start to get slightly better as it progress but don't expect too much as this is a series featured on the sci-fi channel , but its not bad just need to improve or its gonna get cancelled.

The best way this series could go from here is up its game try to stray away from the zombie concept because it been done before too many time, people will just lose interest in it very fast. Would i give it a chance yes just to see whether this series will improve itself from a weak start as most series if the second & third episode dont improve normal the series is a flop, so hopefully it will improve it self as the concept of this series is actually good.

Overall: Weak start but room for improvement , its only the pilot episode so give it a chance

Main review: 

I'm not normally into the crime drama tv series that much but i though i would give this series a chance , low & behold the pilot episode got me hooked ive love the series ever since.
This series has a good balance are crime drama as well as a blend of comedy which make this a brilliant series , which is a a little odd but in a good way.

The whole series revolves around the writer Richard castle played by Nathan Fillion who a bit of a joker kind of get on Kate Beckett nerves (Stana Katic ) but in a funny way as castle is writing a book on her with a character called Nicky heat, though out the season you see their relationship go through there up & down as there friendship blossom's.

This is one of many Tv series ive actually enjoyed watching & one series i reconmend if you haven't yet watched any of the season. its not only funny at time but its very entertaining for with drama. Stana Katic & Nathan Fillion have great on screen chemistry which is why this series is so good & funny special when castle is a playing mood the scene are just funny.

I've gotta admit i dont know why i didnt watch this series sooner , although this is funny its not a series for your younger viewers as some episode have alot of bloody crime scene & people getting shot, as well a sex scenes which adds to the flare of the series theme.

Sex & Nudity: No nudity. Some sexual references in some episodes. Talks about rape and sexual assault. There is one sex scene in an episode in the first season however it is not explicit at all.


Violence & Gore: Sometimes, some bloody images are shown and some violence shown. Nothing too graphic

Profanity : Infrequent uses of bitch, slut, ass, bastard, damn, and hell.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Sometimes, drinking and smoking shown.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Some bloody images maybe too intense for children. And some episodes may frighten them too

What i love about this series is the way castle use's his writing skill to help the police solve crime's in the clever way , this is what make castle character brilliant some what funny at time along with Kate Beckett who has a very dark family past that come to light after years which puts a strain not only on her but on her friendship with castle.
This adds the drama of the series which is actually worth watching,  Stana Katic is beautiful, but not so much that you wonder why she is a cop and not some goddess on an Italian beach like so many actresses tend to be.

She plays her part brilliantly , and the scene she has with Fillon when he, as Castle is peeling away her layers is amazing. She barely gives anything away until the very last moment, but with her facial expressions you know it's coming making her character all the more wonderful.

Nathan Fillion is wonderful as the successful, charismatic, and egocentric Pop mystery writer who seems to be not a drunk and is a loving, attentive father apparently who also has an intriguing backstory with his publisher/ex-wife which I hope is a back story they continue to develop throughout the series.

If there is any series you should watch its this series brilliant from episode to episode through season to season if you love the crime drama's with a comedy side as well this is a series i reconmend watching, special if you a Nathan Fillion fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 9 out of 10 for drama & comedy

The Magicians

I've just stumbled apoun this new series called the magicians which is a new syfy channel series i assume, as to which is based on the trilogy books by Lev Grossman.

it got my interest peak with the use of magic the plot After being recruited to a secretive academy, a group of students discover that the magic they read about as children is very real and more dangerous than they ever imagined. But will getting hooked on the thrill of magic distract them from honing their powers when they need them most?

Now think of the film hogwarts with harry potter but in a more modern day collage that you go to but this collage teaches magic & is hidden from the out side world. Now your think ok so this is just another x-men magic teaching series......that what i thought until i started watch it.

Its a little slow to start with introducing you to the main characters of the series, then it start to get weird but cool you see students doing a magical stuff with their gifts, which it great because you get this brilliant C.G.I visual effects. Now you thinking that this is just going to be light comedic story telling series.....you thinking well thats just boring why watch if it just going to be that way?

Well straight off in the first episode i can tell you this is no ordinary series, what ive seen so far is there is a era of destiny with the main character in this series with a twist, but this is no light comedic series hell no this has a very dark concept.

I have watch the full first series but this has some potential to be a good series if it hasn't been cancelled. If you like harry potter this is more of a up to date modern day harry potter with a very dark concept in magic that is actually worth checking out, im surprised they have made a film out of it .
